Seeing as Gayle was so nice to point out that I must do this every Thursday...LOL...here's this weeks edition. These are some examples of what can happen in translation....some funny...some real.

This is the mecca of professional pillow fighting.
Actually, it's the shop of Stacey P. Case. By day, he prints posters and T-shirts. By night, he is commissioner of the Pillow Fight League (PFL). P. Case? Yeah, right.

Though just practice, Sister Resistor, 32, appears intent on maiming Ms Anvil, 22.

And just for anybody wondering,these are not strippers or ladies of the night. Ursala is a seamstress.

Perfect. Pro pillow fighting is no cushiony game.

And don't laugh. There have enquries from Australia,Germany,Japan and Ireland about expanding the PFL to those countries. New York State has already banned it! Something about only being able to use your hands to fight with in state sanctioned bouts.

Justin Trudeau's bid for the Liberal nomination in Montreal's working-class riding of Papineau could be derailed this weekend by a common front against him by his two opponents.

Another sad reminder of what our Forces give to this country, not only in Afghanistan,but at home.

Roxanne LaLonde was on her way home Saturday evening when she saw her friend, Kellie Galipeau, standing in the middle of the road waving her arms and screaming as her 15-year-old son was swept through the frigid waters of the Rideau River.
Without a second thought, she kicked off her sneakers and ran into the water, only to drown while trying to save Grant Galipeau.

Roxanne was a 32 year-old Master Seaman in the Canadian Forces. Unfortunately, her valiant effort was in vain, Galipeau also died.

Not being of the Navy persuasion, I still wish upon you Fair Winds And Following Seas.

First, my apologies for not posting more often. Been really hectic here lately.

I always knew there where a few Lieberals/Dippers here in Alberta, but I thought the Calgary Sun had gotten rid of this one. Sigh....guess not.

Well. I guess he has to call them detainees, since they are definitely not POW's. But here is my question. Why is there any question about the way they are being treated? I don't see reports of any NATO troops cutting off their "detainees" heads. I don't see any reports of them being forced to renounce their "Religion of Peace", or die.

More Than A Feeling

I don't usually post more than once a day...and sometimes not for several days..but one of my childhood singers has passed.

Brad Delp, lead singer for the band Boston, was found dead in his home today at the age of 55.

I cannot even begin to express the lose I feel. Being a child of 14 when Boston first hit the airwaves, I was entranced. By Brad and by what I call the early precursor to hard rock. They had a heavy riff and a message. Was I into them?? Hell, I still have TWO copies of their original VINYL "Boston" album, one I play , and one still unopened. And yes, I have their CD's also.

Maybe what hit me the most was two things. Being an intrepid and aspiring young drum player at the time (and still can beat out a pretty good solo, much to my neighbours chagrin), Jim Masdea was second only to Phil Collins.

But Brad wrote and sang songs that still had meaning.

Their first hit, "More Than A Feeling", to me, contains perfect insight into love...."I woke up this morning and the sun was gone". What better way to describe a lost love?

Their song "Peace of Mind"?? "I understand about indecsion, and I don't care if I'm left behind, people living in competition, all I want is to have my peace of mind".

As for Brad. There was only one thing I wished for.....to see him and Freddie Mercury, on stage, singing. Now there are two voices that were silenced to soon.

And yes. On their first album cover...those are guiters, heading out from an exploding Earth for a better place. Utopian dream, or just "some peace of mind"?????

Trudeau loses appeal ruling, faces new trial
A summary conviction appeal court has ruled Margaret Trudeau's Charter rights were not violated and she should stand trial again on drinking and driving charges.
"The trial judge's analysis of the right-to-counsel issue is flawed," Superior Court Justice Helen MacLeod wrote in a decision released Wednesday.
At trial, Ontario Court Justice Lise Maisonneuve ruled in November 2005 Trudeau's rights had been infringed and acquitted her after excluding breathalyzer evidence.
Maisonneuve found Trudeau's right to choose her lawyer was infringed because Const. Trevor Archibald told her no one answered the phone when a call was placed to the first lawyer Trudeau picked, rather than saying an answering machine picked up the call.

Damn right the trial judge erred! Since when is an answering machine considered a person??? And what difference does it make? Under the Criminal Code, a lawyer does not need to be present to administer a breathalyzer, only that one has been informed, and in 100% of those cases,the lawyer will tell you to take the test,and things will be ironed out in court.
Maybe what the police should have done was tell that an answering machine had taken the call, and would she like to leave a message. Then give her the test,and then let her sit in a cell until her lawyer showed up. Who knows, she might have flashed them a little Canadian beaver ala Club 54??
At least the Appeals Court judge used a little common sense by throwing out the original not guilty verdict. Or maybe Justice Lise Maisonneuve smelled a Canada Superior Judge appointtment if she threw out charges against the ex of the former commie/socialist PM Turdeau?? After all, the leftards were still in power at the time. What better way to show your loyalty to the criminal group called the Liberals then by invoking not only their flawed "Charter of (Criminal) Rights",but also the specter of their former Capo? Hope this finally comes out the right way.

Jimmy-Bob calls the local division of the RCMP with a complaint. "You just have to get out here and do something about my neighbour 2 doors down. Last night I saw him unloading 2 cords of wood into his back yard!"
So what's the problem asks asks the cop. Having wood in your backyard isn't illegal.
"Yeah" says Jimmy-Bob. "But I am pretty sure that he smokes marijuana, and that he has at least 500 pounds of it hidden in the wood!"
Oh says the cop. That's different! We'll be right over!
Sure enough the cops,with SWAT team in tow,arrive. In no time, Jimmy-Bob hears hollaring,screaming,and cursing coming from his neighbour's backyard. He climbs up on his roof, and sees the cops cutting up his neighbour's wood,yelling at him about a stash of drugs and how he had better come clean. Four hours later,the cops leave,unable to find any dope.
The next morning, Jimmy-Bob phones his neighbour. "Say, where the cops over at your place yesterday?" They sure were says his neighbour. "Did I see them chopping up some of your wood?" he asks. Yeah says his neighbour. They cut up every damn piece I had.

A spokesperson for federal Health Minister Tony Clement said he is ready to talk to his provincial counterpart, but reiterated that mental health care is a provincial responsibility.
This is just stupid. On one hand, the Feds are denying their responsibiliy to look after mental health,but on the other,they have no problem coming after a province's resources.
So just where are the Fed's going to stick their noses? They say that mental health, a HEALTHCARE problem, is the provinces area,BUT,if said province trys to implement PRIVATE resources to cope with the problem,then the Feds say they are violating FEDERAL control over health care!

So some proud playing in a soccer game was kicked out because she was wearing an Islam Hajib. Now everybody is screaming foul, none more so than the Canadian Soccer Association. They are screaming that it is discriminatory and that no rules in FIFA, from which they draw their rules, forbid this.

Here is the official rule...A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous to himself or another player (including any kind of jewellery).

Feds hope back-to-work legislation will beat economic 'chaos'

The federal government is hoping to pass legislation ordering 2,800 striking employees at CN Rail back to work before the walkout brings economic "chaos" down upon the country. "The economy of Canada, the economic activity of Canada, is going off the rails." "Companies are shutting down, one after another. Workers are losing their jobs. ... Citizens of our country aren't getting the basic necessities of life, food and fuel. Ford Motor Co. of Canada shut down its St. Thomas plant in southwestern Ontario after a material shortage caused by the continuing strike, a spokeswoman for the company said Friday.
The closure affected 2,300 people at the plant, which makes the Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis. The workers had been on short shifts for two weeks because of the strike.

Gas shortage strands drivers in Elliot Lake

There's no panic at the pumps quite yet, but a gas shortage in Ontario has already stranded drivers in at least one northern community and left motorists in the province's biggest city accusing retailers of hiking their prices to take advantage.
The only working gas station in Elliot Lake, Ont., west of Sudbury, has run out of fuel due to a shortage brought on by a fire at an Imperial Oil refinery last week. The closest place to buy gasoline is nearly 60 kilometres away in the town of Blind River.

So. What is the common link here? Simple. This is just a very, very, small snippet of the crap that is going to hit the idle fan if either of two things occur.

More problem children today than 50 years ago: Vanier Institute study
If today's youth seem incorrigible, it's because there are more problem children now than 50 years ago, a study released Tuesday by the Vanier Institute for the Family suggests.
The finger of blame points at everyone: parents, schools, neighbourhoods and the media, said the author of the study, Anne-Marie Ambert, a professor of sociology who recently retired from York University in Toronto.
I Don't need a study to tell me this. But then, I not live in leftie/dipper LaLa Land either. Here's some of this "finger of blame".
The paper is a review of hundreds of studies, mostly from Canada and the United States, that looked at various causes for the rise in children's behavioural problems.
The studies looked at poverty, peers, parenting, schooling, media, personality, genetics and communities.

Reading through the report itself, one may come to only one conclusion...this whole thing was nothing more than a waste of tax-payers money to further the socialist/dipper cause.

Research on young children indicates that helping them develop some concern for others may contribute to a decrease in negative behaviours.

NOWHERE.....absolutely NOWHERE...in the entire article released by U of A biologist Mark Boyce was ANY reference EVER made to climate change, global warming, icecap melting, etc,etc. It was a study on the eating habits of grizzly bears, and the finding that, yeah, Martha, they are omnivirous and will eat almost anything that doesn't get them first.

So why the headline about Global Warming?? Just more enviro-cultist propoganda to spread the word of the religion every chance they get. Algore and Goebbels must be smiling from empty-headed ear to ear.

And just to show that not only the loony-left here knows nothing about bears, how about this funny out of Britain.... Somewhere in England, there is an academic who wrote a science textbook that claims, among other things, that polar bears eat penguins. Holy schmoly!! So the opposition parties are all happy and giddy that they managed to force through Parliment a LAW that Canada must present a plan within 60 days to meet Kyoto targets.
All I ask is that everybody calm down for one second. We are talking politicians here. The Conservatives have ZERO interest and plans to do anything regarding this scam. Which is good. PMSH and his Enviroment minister Baird have absolutely NO desire, or reason to implement or follow this attempt at a political coup.
Liberal MP Pablo Rodriguez states that the Conservatives MUST follow this bill, or face lawsuits, non-confidence motions etc.
WHY?
His own government under PMPM bluntly refused to recognize or follow a non-confidence motion, which they lost, while they were in government. So go ahead, Pablo, take it to the Supreme Court. You guys have already set the precedent that governments do NOT have to follow the democartic procedure.
Liberals said the Conservative party's dissenting vote last night shows the government has no intention of honouring Kyoto, an international treaty that aims to halt global warming.
Ummmm. Sort of like the Lieberals did in 13 years? Oh wait. They did accomplish something. They sent millions to China, and did RAISE our emissions 34%. I'm proud. Aren't you?

All I can say is whoopee. If the Mop and Pail finds this fact offensive, then that can only mean it is good for Canada as a whole, not just Queerbec and Onscario. Plus they stick to their tried and true method of if there is no story, make on up to scare the sheeple of Canada.

The Conservative government has loaded the committees that determine who can become a judge, selecting a series of Tories including former politicians, aides to ministers, riding association officials and defeated candidates.
The influential but little-known judicial advisory committees were created in 1988 to take partisan politics out of the appointment of judges. But half -- at least 16 out of 33 -- of the people chosen by the federal justice minister as his nominees are conservative partisans, a review by The Globe and Mail has found.

First off, the M&P must be using new(Lieberal) math. Note that 16 of 33 is now MORE than 50%. I wonder if this is how they figure out their circulation numbers? Note also it was created in 1988 to "take out" partisan politics in appointing judges. Now there is a moronic statement. Not ONCE in the whole article does it mention a peep about the Lieberals appointment to the panel over 13 years. Yup. They sure are non-partisan. All you have to do is Google Supreme Court Justices to see exactly who was being partisan. Tell you what, M&P. When there is finally a true equal number of appointees to the Supreme Court from both sides of the political spectrum, then that will be fair. It will take about 20 years to achieve this mark.

As I said earlier, you can bet this will be good for Canada. What scares the M&P so much is that finally there is a chance some judges who are not socialist idealogues will finally get on the bench, and start bringing some true justice back to the system. This would be a horrible blow to the Lieberals/Dippers of this country. Now longer could they shirk their duties as politicians by referring everything to the Court for implementation. Do you really think the SSM crap would have been passed if Parliment had done their job, and voted on it properly? We will never know, as the Lieberals told their stacked Court to rule on it, thus avoiding their duties. On those grounds alone, just maybe in 5 years it will go before the Court again, and this time the judges will say, in nice terms, screw you. YOU are the politicians. You are supposed to be making the laws, not us. Then it hopefully will overrule the previous illegal findings, and it will go to a vote.
And maybe we won't have the judges constantly making up and/or interpreting laws.
And the M&P makes a big deal out of the fact that cops are now on the committee! Imagine the horror! How dare the Conservatives allow the common, frontline, unwashed masses to have a say on how something that will directly affect them! This is definitley NOT the socialist way. Turdeau must be spinning. Just think. Accountability and tougher enforcement of the laws, and an overhaul of that Utopian dream called the Young Offenders Act.
Of course the M&P, and most other MSM outlets will try to spin this against the Conservatives. It is a direct threat to their nanny state, government depentent, secular, wealth (except their's) destroying way of life. Liberals drop support for Anti-Terror Act clauses.

The Liberal party has dropped its support for the most controversial anti-terrorism powers that it passed in the wake of 9/11 while in government.
The two clauses of the Anti-Terror Act scheduled to fade out after Feb. 15 allow for investigative hearings of material witnesses and preventative arrest without bail for 72 hours.

Great. Why don't they just say that they don't give a damn about Canadians security and move along to the next boondoogle? They, and their socialist dipper cohorts, are after only one thing here, the Muzzie immigrant vote. I mean, if they were really concerned about bad laws, they would be fighting to SCRAP the long gun registry, not fighting against PMSH's plans to do just that. OTTAWA – Liberal Leader Stephane Dion is prepared to take "extraordinary measures" to boost the ranks of women candidates in the next election, including barring men from seeking nominations in some ridings.

Why doesn't he just save himself some time and effort and appoint who will be the Lieberal for whatever riding?

Where necessary, the committees will be able to simply refuse to allow men to run for nominations in some ridings.
"We're trying to find the techniques that are consistent with our democratic processes to the greatest extent possible," said Gerard Kennedy, Dion's special adviser on election readiness.

Barring men from running is consistent with the democratic process??? Only in Cuba, China, or North Korea. Mind you, Kennedy did state "our", as in the Lieberal sense of democracy, which in most of the world is known as dictatorship. Of course some obscure women's rights group has applauded this measure.

Equal Voice, an advocacy group dedicated to increasing the participation of women in politics, applauded the move to reserve some ridings for women only.
"Right now it looks as if 80 per cent of the ridings are reserved for men," said Rosemary Speirs, founder of Equal Voice.
"So I don't see that this is imposing a quota or tokenism or anything else. I think it's just an effort to make sure the party reaches out to women and gets some in there."
Speirs added that leaving ridings to their own devices to recruit candidates "doesn't seem to work for women."

Of course they then quote some numbers about Canada's "dismal" number of female MPs. Maybe they haven't quite figured out yet that perhaps females don't run because they DON"T WANT TO! In Newfoundland and Labrador, I heard stories of families split apart by the tar sands. Those left at home are grateful for the incomes their loved ones are able send, but they are torn by concerns about the inherent unsustainability of the industry, and what its continued development will mean for global warming and for future generations.
Well guess what? There are families split apart in Alberta, and every other province, dipwad. And not just by the oil/gas industry. And the only "inherent unsustainability" concern about this industry is what the Lieberals will do to it when and if they get back into power!

In New Brunswick, people told me they were worried about their province being too heavily tied to a single corporation that is expanding fossil fuel development.
Correct, David. And that "corporation" is NOT Irving Oil (which has all their money in Bermuda anyways). It is ALBERTA and our transfer payments! I am from N.B. It has been for 50 years, and will be for a long time, nothing more than a Federal government sponsored welfare province, thanks to Alberta and the transfer payments.

In Nova Scotia, I was grateful to be able to spend some time with renowned biologist Ransom Myers, whose work on the depletion of the planet's fish stocks sounded a warning to the world. And in Prince Edward Island, we felt the pride of a province that has a plan to be entirely powered by green energy.
David. Most of the depletion of Canada's fish stocks came from overfishing, by NON-CANADIANS fishing illegally in our waters. Allowed, I might add, by Lieberal governments. Well. I hunted around and couldn't find any interesting NEW news, so figured I'd do a little history for today.

Of interest to our friends to the south, today in 1933, the 20th amendment to the U.S. Constitution went into effect. It basically lays out the procedure for the succession of presidents, and the beginning and ending of terms for elected officials.

In 1952, Princess Elizabeth becomes Queen Elizabeth II on the death of her father, King George VI. At the exact moment of her succession to Queen, the 25 year-old Princess was in a treehouse at the Treetops Hotel in Kenya.

And it was exactly 1 year ago that Stephen Harper and the Conservatives became a minority government after 13 years of Liberal dictatorship.

It has taken four decades and sometimes a lot of argument and bitter feelings, but according to a new poll commissioned by Radio-Canada, official bilingualism is finally a hit in Canada.
The CROP poll shows 81 per cent of those surveyed support the idea that Canada is a bilingual country.

The polling firm CROP questioned 2,000 Canadians between Oct. 23 and Nov. 19.

Just two little questions....WHERE were these 2000 people from, and WHAT is their political affiliation? Any bets on how many were from outside the Queerbec/Ontario region, and how many DID NOT work for the federal government?

First. Apologies for my lapses in posting. I've be "doing nothing" for the last month for an average of 14 hours a day, getting my "easy money", as Mr. DidLittle Duhyawn pointed out.

So there is a "new" paper out saying that global warming is now an "enormous threat". Naturally being interested in this, what with the temperature outside my front door being a balmy -21C right now, thanks no doubt to global warming...opppsssss...climate change, and how I miss -40C so much, I thought I would see what our MSM was saying about this threat.
Well imagine my surprise that Canada's Pravda spin-off, the Toronto "Red" Star, had nothing but good things to say about Mr. Duhyawn and his "plan" and trashed PMSH. "This is the challenge of the century," Dion said. "Canada will be a leader to face this challenge with a convinced prime minister. We don't have one today, but if Canadians want to embrace my vision, we will have one tomorrow." A few points, Mr. DidLittle. Where was your "plan" 2 1/2 years ago? Where was your party's plan for 13 years? How come the Lieberals head bagman, Mo Strong, who intiated Kyoto, is hiding out in China, a non-signatory? And two biggies; How will devastating Canada's economy by killing the oil-sands give us money to develop new "green" technologies and how will giving Mo and his communist/socialist buddies billions of what's left of Canada's dollars help stop something that has already been produced? Let's not forget that the Chinese have already embarked on building 500 new COAL FIRED electrical plants, with, I must add, some of the millions we have already sent them. Did you not see the report from your own socialist firm, the Pembina Institute, that says a coal-fired power plant in Ontario is THE largest contributor of GHG in Canada?
Of course, in the eyes of the MSM amd lib-left of this country, Harper vilified himself when he stated the following....While acknowledging the problem is "enormous," Prime Minister Stephen Harper said yesterday that for the time being, Canada can only hope to stabilize its emissions rather than aim for cuts.
"You can't just snap your fingers and reduce emissions by one-third, reduce Canadians' energy use by one-third, in the space of a couple of years," he said. "We have to talk about facts, not about fantasy." Ah yes. The facts. Personally, I think Harper should resign right now for daring to even use the word facts when talking about a pseudoreligious cult like Kyoto and its followers.
Damn it. I don't want my politicians talking facts and figures! I want them telling me how to live, and what to think, and believe, while blindly following their every promise/lie as they rob me of every penny! (Opppssss. Sorry. Got a sip of the socialist Kool-aid instead of my coffee.)
Of course the "Red" Star espouses the group that issued the report, their 4th since 1990, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Their aims, purposes etc. are to numerous to list here, but check out their website. (Notice...socialist gobbledy-gook galore...puke warning). Suffice to say that they are an ad-hoc group who do ZERO actual research on anything, and that they are sanctioned by the U.N. "Nuff said. Notice in their report they used 2,500 scientists for their findings.Ummmmm. I guess the other 11,000 scientists who debunk climate change weren't available for any input. Maybe they were sunning themselves in that new resort in Greenland!
Of course, the weenies and whiners had great things to say about the report. Funny thing. I have been to Bermuda 17 times. It is a British colony (and tax haven). Every time, the local merchants in Georgetown, or Nassau, readily accepted my Canuck bucks. They even jumped for joy if I had Yankee dollars. Try using the Bermudan currency. The Perfume Factory, a local business establishment that sells out-of-this-world natural perfumes, sniffed at my local dollars, but took my Loonie(okay...massive amounts of) quite readily. What I am trying to say here is ,what is the problem with the U.S. trying to keep a control on their money? Shouldn't every country do that?
I have a U.S. dollar account. It pays me way more than any Canadian financial institute does in interest. I claim it each year on my taxes. It gets an automatic deposit from my paycheck every two weeks. My bank knows this, and so does the government. And I have had zero problems. The only time Revenue Canada came after me regarding this account was for a refund because I had over-paid taxes on the interest! Why? Maybe because I don't hide it, or try to say that it is money being sent to my family in that imporvished country.
Of course some will ask, well,why do you need or have a U.S. account? Simple. Myself and my better half are retiring there, so why not have a U.S. account. Would you try moving to Germany without already having some Deutschmarks in your pocket? Ooppps, sorry Euro-dollars?

I made a post about how Islam dicriminates against, and denegrates women (see post below).I wondered why the Useless Nations and women's groups weren't rallying to fight this.( So let the rant begin) To me, the answer is simple, tolerance...or rather POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.
The U.N. and other states sit on their asses and allow Darfur to happen. They allow 16 year old girls who are raped to be stoned to death. They allow a cult to run rampant, saying that it is a religion. Kofi says that Iraq is worse off now then it was under Saddam. They accuse Israel of war crimes when she defends herself against terrorist attacks. These "people" allow mass murder, genocide, rape, and hundreds of other crimes against humanity to go unpunished.
Why?
Again, simple. POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.
Or as anybody with a brain knows it...THE RIGHT TO BLAME THE WESTERN WORLD and especially the UNITED STATES, for any and all failings of the socialists/commies/facists/leftists.
I defy ANYBODY to name me more than 4 countries that have consistently, and unfailingly, taken a stand against facism,communism,terrorism, and marxism.

Early reading skills vital, report suggests.

The National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth released a study to Stats Canada that says that early reading skills of a child are significantly linked to their later test scores regardless of a child’s socio-economic background, gender or mother tongue. My God. Who would have thunk it! You mean if you can't read, you can't pass tests?? Holy moley. And all this time I thought it was because the test were written in Klingon! Boy. Am I ever glad that good taxpayer money was used on this study to point this out to me. After all, if the socialists don't tell us what's wrong, why we peons just can't figure it out for ourselves!
I just love this gem from the study...Early reading skills are related to a child's later ability to use and understand printed information, regardless of the child's background. Imagine! You can't use printed information if you can't read it! Damn. That's like saying you can't use math if you can't add. Of course I may wrong on that last one. There hasn't been a study released yet.

Have we really become so dumbed down and just plain stupid that we need a study for this? And just as another thought...who the hell is going to read and understand this study? Certainley not the Grade 3 & 4's we are turning out now. Ain't socialism wonderful?

Just a quick post for some thought. I may be crazy, but I think I have figured out aconnection between lefties, Islamofacists, and the Useless Nations......KYOTO and CLIMATE INJUSTICE.

Consider the facts. All the above want to squelch and eradicate, if possible, anything Christian, the lefties through the ACLU, CAIR, CAIR-CAN, etc. The Islamofacists just want Christians all dead. And the U.N. just wants Israel to disappear.

Now how does this tie in with Kyoto and Climate Injustice? Simple. First of all, by transferring billions of the West's dollars to all the Islamofacists so that they can better arm themselves. Secondly, once they have achieved their goal of eliminating Christianity, then the world will be back in the 13th century. VIOLA!! No cars, no industry, no planes, no internal combustion engines, no oil/gas to burn, just camel shit to light and heat your grass hovel. What could be better to the above groups! Their goal of world unity, one world government, and pollution stopped, all in one fell swoop of the sword!
Of course it hasn't occurred to the lefties and the Useless Nations that they won't be here to enjoy Utopia, seeing as they will be fertilizer. C'est la vie.

Correctional Service Canada is studying the possibility of increasing prisoner compensation, as well as indexing it to the rate of inflation.
Say what? Prisoners may be getting a COLA clause in their contracts, but 99% of working Canucks don't have this? Just what kind of screwed-up banana republic have we become?

The fact that Israel has gone way out of its way to warn innocent civilians in Lebanon,of impending attacks, so they could find a safe place to be (and the terrorists with them), has "escaped" most of the lib-left reporters, if not all.
By the same token, the undeniable fact that Hezbollahs' coward terrorists have been hiding amongst civilians, while deliberately targeting innocent Israelis, with their rockets, has also escaped the lib-left reporters as well as the likes of Louise Arbour.

For you people living under a rock, Justice Minister Vic Toews' plan is to revamp the group that recommends judges to allow police officers a say in the process. I agree, seeing as cops are on the front lines and see first hand the results of our present "hug-a-thug" judges and their ridiculous sentencings. Now here is where I get confused by the socialists.
"It's part of a bigger picture where this government seems to have a strong underlying distrust of the (current) judiciary," says Ed Ratushny, a University of Ottawa law professor.
"I can't imagine what objective they could have in mind, other than to look for lawyers who will be hard-assed, law-and-order judges."
Excuse me, Ed, but anybody except a bleeding heart leftie DOES have a strong distrust of our current crop of so-called judges. A UN General Assembly committee has voted to discourage UN human rights bodies from condemning any country on human rights, despite objections to the measure from the United States and many European countries.
The draft resolution - sponsored by Belarus and Uzbekistan, both of which have been accused of serious human rights abuses - was approved by the assembly's human rights committee on a 77-63 vote, with 26 abstentions. It now goes to the full 192-member General Assembly for a final vote.

The only thing I can fault Mssr.Dumont on is his use of "common sense" and the "Charter" in the same article. Otherwise he has nailed it. Okay, maybe this was a little mis-understated also...“We are completely moving to misusing the Charter and that is starting to worry me.”

Moving?? We have been at total misuse of this piece of garbage since the day the lefties rammed it down our throats! Just look at the fag/lesbo marriage thing. The "Charter" states quite specifically that NO ONE can be persecuted or discriminated against for their religious beliefs. Yet the bumscrewers want to jail every priest, minister, and rabbi that refuse to "marry" them because it is against their religious beliefs.
It also states that "Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice." Unless of course you are any ordinary citizen wanting to hunt duck, or protect yourself from some thug.

And of course we have this little gem... Citizens of Canada
a) whose first language learned and still understood is that of the English or French linguistic minority population of the province in which they reside, or
b) who have received their primary school instruction in Canada in English or French and reside in a province where the language in which they received that instruction is the language of the English or French linguistic minority population of the province,have the right to have their children receive primary and secondary school instruction in that language in that province

Uhuh. Tell that to the minority Anglos in Queerbec trying to get their kid into English Kindergarten or Grade 1.

No matter want we do, it seems, short of declaring him illegal and a health hazard, PET and his whiny offspring will continue to haunt us. A recent poll commissioned by the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation has found some interesting facts (?) concerning immigration and multiculturalism in Canada.
As reported by the Red Star, "There's a limit to Canadians' acceptance of multiculturalism, especially when a group's beliefs on gender equality clash with "mainstream" values, " So just what are these "values"? Wellllll. It seems that should read VALUE. The only mention of any value was that "81 per cent of respondents in the Environics survey said newcomers should adapt to Canadian values on the rights and role of women." Great. I happen to agree with that.
But then the poll falls apart, unless you happen to be a socialist, commie leftie.
This scares the hell out of me: the poll "found that half of Canadians had a positive impression of Islam — a 4 percentage point increase from 2003 — despite post-9/11 backlash and the June arrests of members of an alleged terrorist cell in Toronto. One in three said Muslims were "rarely" portrayed fairly in the media." Lord thunderin Jesus. Have the Islamofacists succeeded that well with their and the MSM's brainwashing here in Canuckistan? Muslims were "rarely portrayed fairly in the media??? Are these goons stupid, deaf, dumb, and blind? Or a combination of all? Guess what, you little dhimis. When your compatriots and fellow believers in the "Religion of Peace" stop the suicide bombings, beheading of captives, etc, then maybe the rest of us will look upon you a little better! "Almost seven of 10 respondents said law-abiding Canadian Muslims should not personally feel responsible for terrorist acts committed by others in the name of their religion." WRONG!! Until these law-abiding Islamolites stand-up and start turning in their fellow terrorists, they ARE responsible. It's called aiding and abbeting.

Let The Snow Job Begin

Well, after constant nagging, I've decided to return. I have no idea what to start with. ABF seems to have the Global warming scam covered pretty good. Gayle has the you-all side covered. And everybody else covers everything else. Sigh.
Guess I'll just do a quikie on the Edmonton city snow-job. Yesterday morning the snow started falling in earnest, and by noon the heavy snowfall warnings were out. Yet the head turd for clearing our streets ( now there's an oxymoron in Edmonton in the winter) said they weren't going to get anybody out in large numbers until it had "accumulated a bit"! So at 6:00 PM, after 2 inches of wet snow had fallen, they decided to send out the word. Needless to say, the fight had already been lost.
At 5:30 this morning I was on the Whitemud, happily(?) scooting to work. You just know the road is crap when the semis are doing 50 KMH!!. And the intersections? The Oiler's can only dream they had ice that good at Rexall Place! The only blessing was that 91st Street southbound was still snow-covered, so traction was to be had.
Of course at 7 the excuses started from the city. The one I got the biggest kcik out of was that when they called for the contracted graders, only about 53 showed up, instead of the regular 90+. It was blamed on the fact that due to the booming economy, they had found better paying gigs. So now instead of the main drags being plowed and hopefully upgraded to fair winter conditions within 48 hours, it will take 96. Maybe all those contractors got jobs on city council, what with the nice 13% pay raise they are getting, not counting the added new perks also!
But be warned. YOU still have to have the sidewalk in front of your abode cleared to bare concrete within 48 hours, or bylaw will nab you. Something is clearing backwards here. Oh well. It is Edmonchuck. To bad the rodeo is over. At least a horse could get through the drifts easier than me!
So how come Winnipeg, with only 200 less kilometers of roadways, lanes and sidewalks then us, lower property taxes then us, and a smaller population then us, can have ALL their streets and sidewalks cleared within 72 hours of a major snowfall, and we can't even get our side streets done, UNLESS there is at least 10 inches of snowpack, and then only if there is a danger that emergency crews can't respond??? And remember, in the "Peg, a major snowfall is at least a foot in 24 hours. Something stinks in Edmonchuck when it comes to snow removal.
