And The Useless Nations Stumbles On

Just when you thought they could not get any more useless.
UN committee votes to discourage condemning countries on human rights
A UN General Assembly committee has voted to discourage UN human rights bodies from condemning any country on human rights, despite objections to the measure from the United States and many European countries.
The draft resolution - sponsored by Belarus and Uzbekistan, both of which have been accused of serious human rights abuses - was approved by the assembly's human rights committee on a 77-63 vote, with 26 abstentions. It now goes to the full 192-member General Assembly for a final vote.

Well there you have it. The true colours of the Useless Nations is finely showing through. They are NOT an organization concerned about human rights, but rather a leftie/socialist/markist/dictator country club. Of the current 192 member states, a quick review shows that 150 of them are either African tribal countries, dictatorial countries, communist, socialist, markist, facist, shiekdoms, or a combination thereof. No wonder any democratic country with half a brain disregards any crap coming out of this so-called world body.
The new Human Rights Council in Geneva, which earlier this year replaced the discredited Human Rights Commission, has met three times to pass resolutions condemning Israel but hasn't dealt with human rights in Myanmar, North Korea or Sudan.
Well of course they haven't. If they condemn Myanmar, they might offend the poor little murderous Muzzies. North Korea? Don't want to offend bona fide psychopaths. Sudan? No way. Kofi might lose some of the kickbacks he and his family get for the warlords. But no problem picking on Israel for these anti-sematics, just because she stands up for the right to survive against Islamofascists.
Check out part of the preamble of the Useless Nations...to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small,
So they have just confirmed that THEIR understanding of fundamental human rights is that you can enslave, denigrate, murder, and just generally oppress anybody, as long as they belong that select non-democratic society of theirs.
Soooooo. Will this cut down on any condemnation against the U.S. for using "torture" tactics on terrorists? If you think so, I want some of what you are smoking. Will this stop them from bitching against us Canucks about our "supposed" mistreatment of Indians? And you still believe that Brittany Spears is a virgin. After all, they just confirmed that they can no longer do this. And yes. It will get voted through the general assembly. 42 against 150 don't have much hope.
Here's a thought. How about us here in Canuckistan seriously start talking separation again? Only this time to get the hell out of the U.N. Ever wonder why they flew airplanes into the WTC instead of the U.N.? If you are half awake and not brain dead, you know the answer, but for the lefties out there, here's the answer...you don't shit in your own backyard. And the Useless Nations have just confirmed they are the backyard for any country who want to do whatever they want to exploit their people or advance their homocidal, psychopathic agendas.

I hope the US follows through with witholding funds... "The bill will request the withholding of United States contributions to the United Nations until the President certifies that the UN is not engaged in global taxation schemes."

If they were to do that, the piece of garbage would probably collapse...

Ditto what Ab said. I hope we do too!

"And you still believe that Brittany Spears is a virgin." LOL! You and Ab both have a wonderful sense-of-humor, one of the things I love about you two. Heh! It must have something to do with all that cold weather. :)

I would like to withhold contribution to the Useless Nations. Only God and Kofi Annan knows how much of it gets put into private pockets!

I'm about at the point of wishing Texas hadn't joined the Union. If it hadn't, they would have whipped Mexico and we wouldn't have the immigration problem we have now because Mexico would be part of Texas instead of Texas nearly being a part of Mexico. What a world!
